A Touch of Sin (2013)

I had completely forgotten this was an anthology movie when I sat down and watched this, but it didn’t really hurt the movie, but it does suffer from the biggest problem with anthologies: it’s a horribly uneven.  “Oh, was that it?” ends up being the biggest reoccurring theme for me with each installment. Thankfully each portion has somewhat interesting self contained story, and for the most part, they do get a full dramatic structure instead of ending in-medias-res. The first story is the weakest simply because it’s so brief and too abrupt. The mistress episode with the thug slapping her around was pretty uncomfortable to watch, which was a nice sign to see that I have not become entirely emotionless husk and movies can still make me cringe.
