We Are What We Are (2013 )

So apparently this was a remake of a Mexican movie? I need to get around tracking that down one day, to compare and see how different it is. But I digress, cannibal movies, what’s not to love? This was pretty OK, I would give brownie points for originality were it not a remake. I liked the premise, but it’s a bit too slow paced as it lacks the proper thriller atmosphere to keep you glued to the screen, which becomes painfully obvious in the second act where it starts to drags a little. The ending was pretty nice though. I am also a bit annoyed that they are already planning a prequel and a sequel to the remake, because is there really another story there needing to be told?
